THE PC STUDY BIBLE System Requirements and Installation Instructions

1. Place DEMO disk in the A: drive
2. Make sure you have the A> prompt
(if you don't, type A: and ENTER)
3. Run the program by typing
BIBLE (then press ENTER)
System Requirements
-------------------
IBM PC/XT/AT or fully compatible
Minimum 256K memory - The program itself uses approximately 220K.
The rest is available for the word processor
and notepad text. To create larger notepad or
word processor files you will need to add more
memory to the 256K minimum.
Two floppy drives - One for the program disk and one for the
Bible text file disks.
Or a hard disk - Each Bible version requires approximately
1-1/2 megabytes of disk space.
The program and utility files use about 300K.

Files on the DEMO disk

THE PC STUDY BIBLE DEMO disk contains the following files:
README -- instructions for running the DEMO program
BIBLE.EXE -- main program
BIBLE.OVR -- program overlays
ERROR.MSG -- error messages
F1.HLP -- F1 function key help screens
DEFAULT.DEF -- default settings
BKCODES.BBL -- Bible books and abbreviations
DICTION.ARY -- Bible word list
BKFILES.KJV -- pointers to the KJV version text files
BKFILES.NIV -- pointers to the NIV version text files
BBLTEXT1.KJV -- Ephesians through II Timothy from KJV
BBLTEXT1.NIV -- Ephesians through 2 Timothy from NIV
Installation
------------
NOTE --- you must have a CONFIG.SYS file in your root directory that
contains the following line:
FILES=20
DOS defaults to a maximum of 12 files open at any one time.
PC STUDY BIBLE requires more than that. The above CONFIG.SYS
line will increase the maximum to 20 files.
Hard Disk Installation
----------------------
1. From the root directory of the hard disk create a BIBLE directory
by typing
MD BIBLE
2. Go to that directory by typing
CD BIBLE
3. Place THE PC STUDY BIBLE Demo disk in the
A: drive and copy it to the hard disk by typing
COPY A:*.*
5. Run the program by typing
BIBLE
To Run On A Dual Floppy System
------------------------------
1. Place THE PC STUDY BIBLE Demo disk in the A: drive.
It must remain there until you exit from the program.
2. Run the program by typing

PC Bible Study Fact Sheet
The cost of the program is $139.95
1. Includes three versions of the bible in standard (base) product.
A. KJV
B. NIV
C. ASV
2. Other versions can be added, now available for $49 each: New KJV, RSV, and
Living Bible.
3. Shipped on 16 360k format disks. All 3 versions resident plus all programs
requires 4.8mb of disk space. Can be run from floppies.
4. Runs on any IBM Pc or equivalent with => 320k RAM and => DOS 2.0.
5. Bible text compression ratio 3:1. Each version requires only 1.5mb disk.
6. Built in full featured word processor. Exports to most word processors
or ASCII, imports from most word processors or ASCII.
7. CGA, EGA (CGA emulation) or Hercules mode.
8. Fully integrated Greek/Hebrew available as add-in module (approx $99)
Looks up original word, gives Strong's word number, trace roots of words
all the way back to the prime root of a word.
9. Program is NOT copy protected.
10.Quick demo (this program) can demonstrate all basic features
in 12 minutes.
Quick Demo: Keystrokes in <Angle Brackets> are single keys, like the
space bar, ESCAPE key, or ENTER or RETURN key.
Place the demo disk in drive A: or load to hard disk. Log to drive
containing demo. (eg: A: <ENTER> ) and type BIBLE <ENTER>
At opening screen, press any key. Next screen describes limitations of
demo version. Press <ESCAPE>
Main Program Menu screen, choices are 1-6, enter 2
Enter book of bible: type EPH <ENTER>
Enter chapter: type 2 <ENTER>
Enter verse: type 2 <ENTER>
Chapter from Ephesians appears in left half of screen. Take a minute to
play with each of the commands shown on right half of screen. Press F1 for
help.
Continue:
Press <F9> (windows)
Press W (change window layout)
Press 2 (request 2 equal windows)
Press <F9> (windows)
Press S (set windows to same reference)
Press <F9> (windows)
Press P (page windows simultaneously)
If the <downarrow> key is pressed, the two windows (versions) will scroll
together. Press SHIFT and <PageDown> and both windows will go to next chapter.
Concordance:
Press <F3> (go to)
Press C (concordance)
Type "Jesus" (without the quotes, case sensitive) and press <ENTER>
Enter "Eph" (start search)
Enter "Eph" (end search)
You will now have a screen full of verses about Jesus.
Press D (Display verse)
Press <right arrow> or <left arrow> to change text
Press <PageUp> or <PageDn> to move up and down quickly
Press <ESCAPE>
Press R (display context)
Press A (copy all verses found to notepad)
Press N (go to notepad)
Press <PageUp> or <PageDn> to move up and down quickly in notepad
Press <F3> (go to)
Press C (concordance)
Press <ESCAPE> (go back to bible)
Press <F3> (go to)
Press P (word processor)
Press Y (use same text)
We're now in the wordprocessor, having saved all notes in notepad.
Press <PageDown> twice to get to bottom of screen. Press <ENTER> to get a
new line.
Type "Eph 5:1-33" (without the quotes)
Press <F9> (bible) and press C (copy from bible).
You have just copied an entire chapter into a wordprocessing document
with one keystoke.
Press <F3> (go to)
Press X (exit)
Press N (no save)
That's it.
