  8.                      1. Place DEMO disk in the A: drive

  10.                      2. Make sure you have the A> prompt
  11.                         (if you don't, type A: and ENTER)

  18.                             System Requirements
  19.                             -------------------

  21.        IBM PC/XT/AT or fully compatible
  22.  
  23.        Minimum 256K memory - The program itself uses approximately 220K.
  24.                              The rest is available for the word processor
  25.                              and notepad text.  To create larger notepad or
  26.                              word processor files you will need to add more
  27.                              memory to the 256K minimum.
  28.  
  29.        Two floppy drives   - One for the program disk and one for the
  30.                              Bible text file disks.
  31.  
  32.        Or a hard disk      - Each Bible version requires approximately
  33.                              1-1/2 megabytes of disk space.
  34.                              The program and utility files use about 300K.

  60.                                Installation
  61.                                ------------

  63.        NOTE --- you must have a CONFIG.SYS file in your root directory that
  64.                 contains the following line:
  65.  
  66.                                 FILES=20
  67.  
  68.                 DOS defaults to a maximum of 12 files open at any one time.
  69.                 PC STUDY BIBLE requires more than that.  The above CONFIG.SYS
  70.                 line will increase the maximum to 20 files.

  73.                            Hard Disk Installation
  74.                            ----------------------

  76.        1. From the root directory of the hard disk create a BIBLE directory
  77.           by typing
  78.  
  79.           MD BIBLE
  80.  
  81.        2. Go to that directory by typing

  83.           CD BIBLE
  84.  
  85.        3. Place THE PC STUDY BIBLE Demo disk in the
  86.           A: drive and copy it to the hard disk by typing

  88.           COPY A:*.*

  90.        5. Run the program by typing

  99.        1. Place THE PC STUDY BIBLE Demo disk in the A: drive.
  100.           It must remain there until you exit from the program.

  102.        2. Run the program by typing

  107. The cost of the program is $139.95
  108.  
  109. 1. Includes three versions of the bible in standard (base) product. 
  110.    A. KJV
  111.    B. NIV
  112.    C. ASV
  113. 2. Other versions can be added, now available for $49 each: New KJV, RSV, and
  114.    Living Bible. 
  115. 3. Shipped on 16 360k format disks. All 3 versions resident plus all programs
  116.    requires 4.8mb of disk space. Can be run from floppies. 
  117. 4. Runs on any IBM Pc or equivalent with => 320k RAM and => DOS 2.0.
  118. 5. Bible text compression ratio 3:1. Each version requires only 1.5mb disk.
  119. 6. Built in full featured word processor. Exports to most word processors
  120.    or ASCII, imports from most word processors or ASCII. 
  121. 7. CGA, EGA (CGA emulation) or Hercules mode.
  122. 8. Fully integrated Greek/Hebrew available as add-in module (approx $99)
  123.    Looks up original word, gives Strong's word number, trace roots of words
  124.    all the way back to the prime root of a word. 
  125. 9. Program is NOT copy protected. 
  126. 10.Quick demo (this program) can demonstrate all basic features 
  127. in 12 minutes.

  129. Quick Demo: Keystrokes in <Angle Brackets> are single keys, like the
  130. space bar, ESCAPE key, or ENTER or RETURN key.

  132. Place the demo disk in drive A: or load to hard disk. Log to drive
  133. containing demo. (eg: A: <ENTER> ) and type BIBLE <ENTER>
  134.  
  135. At opening screen, press any key. Next screen describes limitations of 
  136. demo version. Press <ESCAPE>
  137.  
  138. Main Program Menu screen, choices are 1-6, enter 2
  139.  
  140. Enter book of bible: type EPH <ENTER>
  141. Enter chapter: type 2 <ENTER>
  142. Enter verse: type 2 <ENTER>
  143.  
  144. Chapter from Ephesians appears in left half of screen. Take a minute to
  145. play with each of the commands shown on right half of screen. Press F1 for
  146. help. 
  147.  
  148. Continue: 
  149. Press <F9> (windows)
  150. Press W    (change window layout)
  151. Press 2    (request 2 equal windows)
  152. Press <F9> (windows)
  153. Press S    (set windows to same reference)
  154. Press <F9> (windows)
  155. Press P    (page windows simultaneously)

  157. If the <downarrow> key is pressed, the two windows (versions) will scroll
  158. together. Press SHIFT and <PageDown> and both windows will go to next chapter.

  160. Concordance:

  162. Press <F3>   (go to)
  163. Press C      (concordance)
  164. Type "Jesus" (without the quotes, case sensitive) and press <ENTER>
  165. Enter "Eph"  (start search)
  166. Enter "Eph"  (end search)

  168. You will now have a screen full of verses about Jesus.

  170. Press D      (Display verse)
  171. Press <right arrow> or <left arrow> to change text
  172. Press <PageUp> or <PageDn> to move up and down quickly

  174. Press <ESCAPE>
  175. Press R   (display context)
  176. Press A   (copy all verses found to notepad)
  177. Press N   (go to notepad)
  178. Press <PageUp> or <PageDn> to move up and down quickly in notepad

  180. Press <F3> (go to)
  181. Press C    (concordance)
  182. Press <ESCAPE>  (go back to bible)
  183. Press <F3>  (go to)
  184. Press P     (word processor)
  185. Press Y     (use same text)

  187. We're now in the wordprocessor, having saved all notes in notepad. 
  188. Press <PageDown> twice to get to bottom of screen. Press <ENTER> to get a 
  189. new line.

  191. Type "Eph 5:1-33" (without the quotes)
  192. Press <F9> (bible) and press C (copy from bible). 
  193.  
  194. You have just copied an entire chapter into a wordprocessing document
  195. with one keystoke. 
  196.  
  197. Press <F3>  (go to)
  198. Press X     (exit)
  199. Press N     (no save)
